Is this for real? Wait, black men, exactly how much do you hate yourselves? If the answer is “a lot,” you might want to get a new skin lightening product for men containing hydroquinone by dancehall artist Vybz Kartel!
I guess reggae artist Vybz Kartel hates himself that much, but it’s not his fault. The dancehall musician lightened his skin and has experienced a backlash from fans who are appalled by his physical changes. In a recent interview, Kartel linked blacks who lighten their skin to white people who tan.
In the beginning of the year, Kartel claimed to use cake soap, a clothes-bleaching product, to lighten his skin in order to make his tattoos more visible. But after the Jamaican manufacturer of the product refuted his claims he explained that he actually used his own special blend.
Kartell claims that the soap lightens his skin. However, Bounty Killer countered by saying that his mother has used cake soap and it has yet to bleach her skin. Bounty Killer believes that Kartel is using something stronger to lighten his skin.
Whether we like it or not, Addi Bleacha is turning his controversial image into cold hard cash, capitalizing off those young men who still feel the brainwashing effects of colonialism. Kartel is currently awaiting trial for conspiracy to commit murder. What a way to raise money for legal fees!
Soon the controversial musician’s secret recipe will be available to buy. Think of it as Carol’s Daughter for the self-loathing market.
But girls lets be serious, what is your opinion about men using skin lightening products?
