Music: Soul From Scandinavian By David Jay, Awa & Aisha

Are you in for some Scandinavian Soul? Across Scandinavia, soul is hardly ever played on commercial radio. Is there anything better then listening to soul music on a cold fall evening, on a long drive or in a fire-lit cabin in the mountains? Yeah we thought so, there is not! Here are some Scandinavian music choices you might want to listen to after the jump:

Danish singer David Jay (born and raised in Copenhagen Denmark) released the first music video from the new EP “Evil Cirle” a week ago. He is a busy man! Following his successful debut EP So Disrespectful Mixtape, David has travelled to the heart of Africa, England, and Sweden but still has time to produce his second EP, ‘Evil Circle.’ DJ now releases a video to the smooth single '4 A Minute’ which gives even more gloss to an already polished track.

Swedish singer/songwriter Awa Manneh (Swedish mother and Gambian father), released the track "Shook, Shook, Shook".  Her three times Swedish Grammy nominated debut album called ‘Sounds Like Me’ was released in 2002. The then 19 year old Awa produced and programmed 9 out of 13 tracks on the album and co-produced three. This earned her the first Swedish Grammy ‘Producer of the year’ nomination ever given to a female.

Aisha, who has roots in Denmark and Somalia, released her debut album "Deeper Than Roots" in May 2012, the song "No One Loves Me Better" is the first track on her album. On the album she pursuits modern urban tales using the universal global language of soul and pop music. The album is best described as an original mix of warm soulful vocals with an organic backbone.

More Scandinavian Soul here!
