News: M.I.A. Announced Partnership With Versace

During a lecture at modern art museum P.S.1, an audience inadvertently got a look at M.I.A.’s desktop filled with folders titled ’Versace, Prints,’ ‘Bootleg Versace, ,’ and ‘Versace, Outlines’. She then confirmed to Spin there is indeed something in the works. Despite the rumors about Lana Del Rey being the new face of Versace, it's actually another super-stylish pop star who has been chatting with the mega brand. More info:

M.I.A studied at the esteemed Central Saint Martins College so already has designer credentials. What's more, she was the roommate of Luella Bartley, modelled for Marc by Marc Jacobs in 2008 and her mother works as a seamstress in London. You might also recall she released a limited-edition Okley Run line that was sold during New York Fashion Week in 2008, which featured Mexican and Afrika line jackets and leggings as well as Islamic-inspired prints and hoodies covered in water melons. No wonder that during her many recent public appearances she was wearing impossible-to-procure vintage Versace prints. We cant wait to see the outcome!
