Model Of The Year 2012: Cara Delevingne,Joan Smalls,Karlie Kloss,Sessilee Lopez, Jourdan Smalls, Nyasha Matonhodze

2012 is drawing to a close, and it’s the time of year that we look back and reminisce about the most memorable models in the model industry this year. Modeling is a highly competitive industry, but if you have that “it” factor, you can easily rise to the ranks as a designers favorite. We’ve made a list of this year's favorite models. We’ve seen their faces in campaigns and editorials, and watched them ripp the runways, and now its time to decide who rocked the year 2012. Check the list after the jump and dont forget to leave a comment on which model deserves the modeling crown for the year 2012!

Cara Delevingne - Age: 20. Agency: Storm Model Management - Provenance: United Kingdom
Great Britain is already obsessed with Cara Delevingne. She's beautiful, stylish and, as if stealing the show at London Fashion Week Spring/ Summer 2013 wasn't enough she's only gone and won Model of the Year at the British Fashion Awards. The quirky blonde was presented by fashion photographer Ellen von Unwerth at The Savoy Hotel in London beating stiff competition from bessie Jourdan Dunn and male model David Gandy. This year has been non-stop for the London-born model. After making her debut at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in November, she was also described as the star face of autumn/winter 2013 by British Vogue.
Joan Smalls Age: 24. Agency: IMG. Provenance: Puerto Rico.
This time last year, Joan Smalls name was relatively unknown to the masses outside the fashion realm. But when the Puerto Rican beauty dominated NY Fashion Week last fall to strut spring collections for just about every single major name fashion label, her name was on the mouths of many, and covers of many more. Models.com even crowned the Puerto Rican the highest ranking at #1. And she finally scored her first Vogue cover for Italia as well as her second and third (Australia, Turkey).
Karlie Kloss - Age 20 - Agency: IMG - Provenance: USA.
It’s been an exciting year for Karlie, filled with all the successes and controversies (both in and out of the fashion world) befitting a model at the top of her game. There was Karlie’s Kookies, the MTV House of Style hosting gig, bonding with Olympians, abrupt agency swtiches, an insensitive turn on the Victoria’s Secret catwalk, and the requisite photoshop controversy. Karlie hit all the highs and more, appearing in original editorials for nine international editions, and appearing in a total of 20 issues. To top it all off, almost half of her appearances were in the big-selling March and September issues!
Sessilee Lopez Age 23 - Agency: Elite Model Management - Provenance: USA
Supermodel Sessilee Lopez picked up a Model Of The Year Award in South Africa at the African Fashion Awards 2010. In addition to nabbing major editorials in Marie Claire, Allure and Elle, Lopez dominated the spring runways for Zac Posen, Kenzo and Jean Paul Gaultier, just to name a few.

Jourdan Dunn Age 22 - Agency: Storm Model Management  - Provenance: United Kingdom
Jourdan Dunn was launched into super model stardom. She is the first black model since Naomi Campbell to walk for the fashion house Prada. She also featured in Italian Vogue's iconic black model issue. Dunn has walked the runways for nearly every top designer and spreaded every fashion magazine. She also won The British Fashion Council's model of the year accolade in 2008. Jourdan was seen recently strutting her stuff with fellow super models at the Olympic closing ceremony, something she credits as being a highlight of her career.

Nyasha Matonhodze Age 17 - Agency: Elite Model Management - Provenance: Originally from Zimbabwe - United Kingdom
Model Nyasha Matonhodze is really reppin Africa in the modeling world. Zimbabwean-born, British-raised seventeen-year-old model has been chosen as one of the new faces of Louis Vuitton, starring in the maison's fall/winter advertising campaign. Nyasha Matonhodze has already starred in a handful of magazine editorials, including some big-name magazines such as Teen Vogue and Harper's Bazaar, and has walked in dozens of runway shows. This rising star certainly has a promising career ahead of her, as evidenced by her breathtaking Vuitton ad and fierce runway walk.

Who earns to be  2012's model of the year? Leave your opinion after the jump:
