Make-up: Atelier Versace Beauty Looks

We fawn over the clothes, but it’s hard work and preparation that goes on for hours before a collection takes to the runway that brings all the magic and the mood together. That’s why we capture the beauty looks of Atelier Versace. The makeup artist Pat McGrath created a smoky eye with a green detail.

Pat McGrath explains the inspiration for the look; “Donatella was really obsessed with a neon green metallic that’s in the shoes and in the clothing – really lime, hot green metallic, so we added just a little strip of eyeliner to the outside of the eyes as a line and a little bit on the inner corners.”

McGrath said she “perfected” models’ skin and brows, and used liner and gloss on their lips. Hairstylist Guido Palau described the coif he created for the show as being about “two contrasting textures.”

Redken Hardware 16 gel was put on the top section of models’ tresses, to create the more “couture” part, and Redken dry shampoo was left on the back for the “natural” element.“It’s very modern, not overblown out or anything,” Palau noted.

If you gals want to copy Joan Small's make-up look you can blend a hint of dark green liner (applied on the inner bottom rim of your eye) with your black liner. It will perk up your run-of-the-mill smoky eye and is perfect for girls' night out.

Are you going to try it out?
