The collection of “Le Collane di Betta” necklaces represents a unique fusion of ancient mystique, natural form and sensuous symbolism. Traditional African design has always had a strong influence on fashion, and a number of our favorite designers have experimented. Elisabetta Capolino, creator of “Le Collane di Betta” is a good example. |
Elisabetta was born in Rome and comes from a proud lineage of Italian jewellers and was taught the tradition of the craft by both her grandfather and her mother. It was her travels in Africa, however, and the extensive research in tribal jewellery from all over the world that inspired Elisabetta to create a jewellery line that went beyond decoration and into the mystique of seduction and symbolism.
“Le Collane di Betta” has been widely recognized at exhibitions in Africa and Europe, as well as having her pieces featured in runway events from Milan to Nairobi and London. Her creation also appeared in fashion magazines like Elle, Harpers & Queen, Vogue, Marie Clare and Arise.
