News: Rihanna Is Being Sued for “S&M Video

New-York based photographer Philipp Paulus from Germany is sueing Rihanna over her 2010 music video for “S&M. He claims a scene in the pop star's bondage-themed video was based on his fashion photography series "Paperworld". The video that has been watched by nearly 49 million peole could be banned from YouTube and TV.

 Phillips work included a woman in a red dress held against a wall in plastic wrapping with black tape X-marks and in the S&M video you can see Rihanna in a similar setup with plastic wrapping and crosses.

Phillip Paulus Lawyer, copyright specialist Philip Jakober, said Universal Music Group had admitted the similarities some time ago but had not made a reasonable offer to settle the matter.

The case will go to court April 15th, and if Paulus wins, “S&M” will be banned from YouTube and television.
