Zara finally opens store in South Africa!

AT LAST! Spanish fashion retailer Zara just opened their first South African store, the store is located at the newly refurbished Sandton City.

Fashion in the western world is so saturated that all eyes are on Africa at the moment, from Mango launching in Lagos and Zara finding its feet in South Africa its makes me wonder how this will impact on local African designers as brands like Zara and Mango are so reasonably priced and easily accessible. Having just said that I love Zara for their simplicity and quality and although it was mentioned by Zara that South Africa will have a collection specifically designed for the Southern hemisphere, I just hope its not Europe’s leftovers that will be shipped there.
