To test if the Remy hair appears more healthy, soft and silky, slide your fingers on the hair from the root of the hair to the tip. It must glide smoothly between your fingers. However, if you try sliding from the tip to the root, you'll feel a lot of friction. This also happens with natural human hair. This is because, the cuticle layers are aligned and hence can slide smoothly.
So how should you take care of the hair:
Hair Care Instructions:
Keep the hair Clean: The hair can be washed at least three or four times a week with lukewarm or cold water. Please wash the hair right after swimming, spa, exercising etc. When dirt accumulates, including sweating, hair tangles!
Washing Hair: Indian Remy Hair should be treated as normal hair and washed regularly to maintain its natural shape. Shampoo, condition and moisturize your hair every 3-4 days. Make sure to brush out all tangles before you wash your hair or go to sleep at night. Always use a low PH high moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. Some shampoos can be too harsh for your hair extensions, you should pre- condition your extensions before washing by applying conditioner to hair without rinsing it out. Then wash hair normally and follow with conditioner.
Or you can dilute shampoo with water 50/50 into a spray bottle. Spray shampoo onto scalp. Press and slide shampoo into the hair addition from the root to the ends with a sponge or press with palms and squeeze the shampoo through the ends. Alternate using “Moisturizing Shampoo” and “After Color Shampoo”. Never rub or ruffle the hair or tangling will result. Lean forward facing shower and rinse with lukewarm (not hot) water. Alternate Deep Penetrating Moisture and Conditioner Concentrate. Leave on for 3-5 minutes. Avoid using conditioners near attachment site as adhesive may detach prematurely.
Matting: Each morning, lean your head forwards and use a soft brush and gently brush your hair starting at the ends of the hair and working your way up to the root area.
Styling: • Use a soft bristle brush starting from the bottom, gently work your way up. Do not tug or pull on the hair. • At night, tie your hair up gently or wrap it to prevent tangling. • If you have braid extensions, run your fingers through the braids to help prevent tangling.
Detangling: Make sure you comb the hair after each wash and everyday. When detangling the hair, please start from the ends and work up little by little to the scalp. Hold the base with the other hand to keep it from shedding or causing root tension. We recommend the Rotating Tooth Comb. Use Biosilk on the ends. Avoid using shine products on the root area as it may prematurely detach your hair Grafting.
Friction: From pillows or overly aggressive shampooing will break off the hair and thin and tear out the hair.
Blow Drying: Take care not to lift the Hair Addition when round brushing and drying your hair. Brush gently toward the face. Do not brush or tug abruptly when drying the hair. Press firmly around perimeter after blow drying.
Sleeping: Make a couple of big braids in your hair when going to sleep, swimming or exercising. You MUST untangle your hair prior to braiding. NEVER sleep on wet hair, your hair must be completely dry before going to sleep as sleeping on wet Hair Additions will cause hair to be very matted.
