Elegancy101 Special: The Burberry Show & Press Event Spring 2014

We had a blast during London Fashion Week only the weather was..... horrible. We visited quite a few shows but the highlight was THE Burberry show and press event. The Burberry Spring 2013 collection was a full theatrical performance. There were no studs, no hard-hitting, form-fitting glamour but a typical relaxed mode. This time Christian Bailey brought Scottish cashmere and Nottingham lace together.

 We saw a lot of fitted, sexy dresses and separates, mostly in powdery and pastel shades in lace, with slouchy outwear made of cashmere, jersey and suede. Much of the lace was made in Nottingham by a company that still uses Victorian-period looms, and that cashmere hailed from Scotland.

The Burberry trench coats were given an upgrade with brilliant embellishments and waist cinching belts.

Front-rowers like Sienna Miller, Harry Styles, Anna Wintour, Tinie Tempah and Paloma Faith were all in attendance. And models like Jourdan Dunn and Cara Delevingne graced the runway.

"I like the idea of working with old fashioned crafts," said Christopher Bailey, Burberry's chief creative officer, afterwards. "And we also did a collaboration with Apple today - I like that contrast between old and new.

During the press event at the flagship store in Regent Street, Burberry used the all-new iSight® camera on iPhone 5s to show off runway footage, high quality photos, beauty looks, product details, and backstage moments.

I could not make the best pics with my camera because it was on low battery! However, I absolutely loved the handmade flower crown I got from www.mofrange.nl. Trust me.. it is the best place to shop unique, affordable and selfmade accessory pieces!

We fell in love with the collection instantly. And on another note, this show contained a beautiful mix of models. It was amazing to see, and we are quite pleased that they had such a diversity!!!
