Style Spotters: Met Ball Gala 2014 in New York City

  

It was celebrity dress up time at the Met Ball Gala in New York City on May 5. The annual fundraising gala for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute serves as an opening celebration for the institute's annual fashion exhibit. The dress code is guided by the theme of the Costume Institute exhibition. Last year was punk, and this year was a retrospective of the Anglo-American couturier Charles James, creator of epic pastel ballgowns for society swans. The dress code for the opening night was "White Tie and Decorations". Take a look at some of the pretty dresses from the 2014 Met Ball.
