Elegancy101 Special: Behind-The-Scenes At online Shopping Giant Wehkamp.nl

As a lot of you may seen on Instagram I've been behind the scene of the online shopping giant in The Netherlands called Wehkamp.nl. They specialize in fashion, home, electronic household appliances, sports & leisure and lifestyle products. In this way, the Wehkamp distinguishes itself from other online stores. After a bit of a break of all the events that I've been attending, I took the opportunity to take loads of pictures to show you guys how the biggest online store operates behind the scenes!

 

As Wehkamp.nl has gotten bigger, so has their building and so has the amount of clothes they need to shoot everyday. They have a few studios and a small catwalk where they film the videos for the items and are still expanding to fulfill the amount of product that needs to be shot! Everyday they have two models per studio who will alternate between shooting and getting changed for maximum efficiency and there is a hair and make-up person and stylist for each studio.

 

The atmosphere was as lively as ever, and the first thing every model has to do is head to the hair and make up room. I had the chance to style one of the models with a few other bloggers. We were aloud to choose concession brands such as Nike or Lanvin, Jimmy Choo etc. to dress the models.

When it comes to food Wehkamp.nl definitely knows how to treat their guests. We started out with a well prepared brunch and afterwards we received more snacks like muffins, candy, chocolate donuts, crisps and pastries. I could not stay away from the muffins!

The whole brand has been upgraded and I feel that the building really reflects the fun and cheerful appearance of the brand. Í've also noticed that the staff are as important as the brands name itself because they really do make Wehkamp.nl an enjoyable place to work! It is a massive space of young, fashionable, creative staff who are at the helm of a massive company who provide clothes to over 1 million unique visitors.
